Every dolly and stuffie toy enjoys tea parties, especially when little kids set them up in a circle and serve them in a great kid’s tea set. Here are some ideas for inexpensive products that will provide all the props for just such a great tea party.
Tea Sets for the Littlest Kids
For toddlers, plastic is the best way to go. You will dispair when porcelain tea sets come crashing down, but worse, little feet may be in danger. Stick with stuff that you can recycle to a thrift store or toss when your child moves on.
This last product is exactly the kind of product that we encourage you to buy. Designed for children ages three and up, this “green” tea set is made from recycled milk jugs (perfect!), is FDA approved to eat and drink from, and does not contain BPA, phthalates, or lead paint. We can’t encourage you enough to buy products that are free of harmless plastics. If you’re not convinced, see our page on concerns about plastics. The set is colorful and durable, and is ideal for bath-time tea parties.
Of course you will need something to serve to dolly when the tea is ready.
Once again, these last two are made from velour fabric, so no worries about ingesting dangerous thalates or weird plastic additive chemicals that baby shouldn’t be exposed to, much less swallowing.
Porcelain Tea Sets
As kids get older, they will want something much more like Mom’s tea set; that is, porcelain and without all the smiling faces stamped on the side.
